What differed with each case was the scale of violence and murders.

Back to Kenya: Every 5 years we have hate speech, demonization of certain tribes, then tribal/ethnic violence.

Perpetrators walk scot free in each instance (usually rewarded with plump Gov. jobs!). Media refuses to take responsibility for encouraging violence. The International community wags fingers ("you bad bad boy" style) and discusses over and over the merits and demerits of the word "genocide" and its applicability to the situation vs other historical/hypothetical situations.

People are told to Forgive and forget (for 5 years) - and the cycle continues. The scale of violence intensifying with each cycle of bloodshed as the war mongers grow bolder, colder, greedier and more vicious.

Similar pattern in pre-1990's Rwanda.

2007/8 PEV is a warning to all peace loving Kenyans. Please do whatever you can to push for real reforms, ethnic tolerance and peaceful co-existence - especially with your upcountry folks who may not be exposed to other communities.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9317825.post-6512236094682617832009-04-17T19:07:00.000+03:002009-04-17T19:07:00.000+03:00Kachwanya: It’s a beautiful country, and I wonder ...Kachwanya: It’s a beautiful country, and I wonder why they are poking Kenya. The land around Mount Elgon would be more prized and they have ½ the lake which they have used to do many projects.

3Nspeaks: it’s nice what they are doing. Am not sure if Central Depository and Settlement Corporation has reconstituted their board of governors, which was a key directive of the finance minister. Now it seems even Finance Minister cannot help the Kenyan investors....

The CMA still seems to be as toothless as it was before so i guess you are right, the other regional stocks trading markets might be inferior now but if we are not careful they will zoom past us in the very near futurekachwanyahttp://www.kachwanya.comnoreply@blogger.com
