Money is a resource, like time and labor. It is also a commodity for barter trade.

Idle money rots and loses value. Houses are illiquid.. Buying a house before you can afford it is financial foolishness in my view.. It locks up your capital (can't take advantage of opportunities) and keeps you in the rat race.

Houses are not investments. Houses are not secure and/or guaranteed to last (can collapse or burn down for example).

We all know that many builders skimp on quality and safety aspects to cut costs (or to steal from the owners). You have seen upmarket houses collapsing right before tenants move in... or developing huge cracks 6 months after tenants move in...

Unless you get a 20 year guarantee on quality of workmanship, you take a HUGE safety risk every time you buy a house.Maishinskihttp://maishinski.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9317825.post-20100828377021865232010-04-27T17:21:10.633+03:002010-04-27T17:21:10.633+03:00Kainvestor: i'd wager on David Masika - proper...Kainvestor: i'd wager on David Masika - property arbitrage magnatebankelelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01180926084939364063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9317825.post-20187421480520955752010-04-27T16:21:12.819+03:002010-04-27T16:21:12.819+03:00Not only was the expo smaller this time, I noticed...Not only was the expo smaller this time, I noticed that at least five stalls were VillaCare subs, owned by Ojijo.
